Morphologic criteria of eccrine and apocrine differentiation

Eccrine:

* Ductal differentiation:

The excretory duct abuts in the non-infundibular epidermis (many times is not possible to distinguish between eccrine and apocrine differentiation).

Apocrine:

* Ductal differentiation:

The duct abuts in the indundibulum (many times is not possible to distinguish between eccrine and apocrine differentiation).

* Secretory differentiation:

Mucinous cells in the luminal border of the neoplasia.
Poligonal hyaline cells.
Papillary structures.

Some have suggested that the expresion of CD15 might suggest apocrine differentiation (Mahaligam 2010).
